It’s the beginning of a new month. Can you believe its April already? What today also means is the first round of April Xbox Game Pass announcements. The year has already been filled with day one games joining the service such as Avowed, Atomfall, Eternal Strands and much more. April continues that trend with 3 day one games including a first party game as announced by Xbox via the Xbox blog.

- Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) - April 3
- All You Need is Help (Console) - April 3
- Still Wakes the Deep (Xbox Series X|S) - April 3
- Wargroove 2 (Console) - April 3
- Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition (Console and PC) - April 8
- South of Midnight (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) - April 8
- Commandos: Origins (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X|S) - April 9
- Blue Prince (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X|S) - April 10
- Hunt Showdown 1896 (PC) - April 15
Of course the two highlights we’ve already known about. Compulsions first game as an Xbox first party studio, South Of Midnight, has been a long time coming. Players will take control of Hazel, a Weaver with magical powers that helps her cleanse the world. The story takes place in the deep south and is filled with and inspired by many southern folklore tales.
We’ve been playing it already and will have our full review on April 3rd at 12pm EST. While the game won’t join Game Pass until April 8th, those who simply cant wait can purchase the premium upgrade to play it on the 3rd if they so choose.
The other day one game of the first half is Commandos: Origins, developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso. Origins, as the name suggests, is a bit of a reboot for the Commandos series. Commandos is a long running stealth strategy game where you control of a group of Commandos.
The game plays very similar to Desperados, just in a more militaristic setting. It’s a nice change of pace from what we are used to in Game Pass and should set it apart from others a bit. It launches April 9th, 1 day after South Of Midnight. It is playable solo or with a co-op partner.
Lastly for the day 1 releases there's Blue Prince by developer Dogubomb. The indie strategy puzzle game is building quite a bit of hype for it and fans won't have to wait too much longer.
Also of note is the addition of Diablo 3. Gamers have been clamouring for more Activision owned games to come to the service after being bought by Microsoft, so hopefully this is the start of a more consistent rollout.
We also learned earlier today about the 7 games leaving game pass April 15th which you can find here.
