Miss the days when you could simply share a game with your friends or family? Everything is going digital and it has seems as time passes that those days are over. Until today.
During the Nintendo Direct today, they announced Virtual Game Cards. Virtual Game Cards give you the ability to share a game card with someone in your family group for up to 14 days.
When you buy a game digitally you will own that Virtual Game Card and will have a dedicated management screen to access all the games you own. You will be able to load and eject which games you wish to play on your console.
Loading on a Console
If you have more than one console, you can eject the virtual game card from one console to the other. This enables you to play your owned games between both consoles. You will need to have local communication between both console to do this, but only for the first time you transfer games.

Lending to Family Group Members
You can now lend out your Virtual Game Cards to family group members. You can have up to 8 members in a family. This can only be done locally over an internet connection. You can lend out 1 game to 1 person at a time. After 14 days, your game will be returned to you.
This feature will work on the very anticipated switch 2 console as well. This feature will come in an update in late April.
