It truly feels like a lifetime ago since Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was announced. Even then it was an incredibly long time until we seen anything until at last years full reveal.
At long last, at todays Nintendo Direct we have seen our first full gameplay look at the game which is still slated for a 2025 release on Nintendo Switch. Don’t worry, you won’t need a console upgrade to play Samus’s latest FPS adventure. Whether or not we will see an upgraded edition of the game for Nintendo Switch 2 remains unknown, but it should be expected we will know more in the near future.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond latest trailer
You can view the trailer below. What we see includes Samus on a lush green swamp-like planet, Planet Viewros. Many gameplay traits that fans of the series will return including lock-on gunplay, scanning of environments to find clues and more
Samus also seemingly has new ‘psychic abilities’. Powers will allow Samus to operate mechanisms, open tours and dictate the trajectory of her beams. We don’t yet know how Samus secured her powers, with the trailer leaving some mystery around that. Finally, the trailer refers to Samus as the ‘Chosen one’, something we’ll learn more about when the full game launches later this year.
