Goodwin Games, the Indie developers behind the Slavic-inspired exploration game Selfloss, have announced their next title.
Quite A Ride is a first-person horror cycling game where you must ride your bicycle through a shifting, mist-laden environment in an attempt to outrun the horrors that lie just beyond the fog. Your phone, that seems to be haunted by an eerie silhouette, must be kept charged by pedalling so that you can receive cryptic messages from… someone.
Check out the announcement trailer that was released via IGN.
The game is currently slated for PC, with no release date as of yet, but there is a Quite A Ride Steam Page where you can wishlist it.
Quite A Ride’s description on its Steam Page highlights some very interesting features, adding some intriguing layers to the gameplay.
“Shifting World _ Explore an ever-changing road filled with strange labs, abandoned towns, and disturbing discoveries.”
“Don’t Look Back _ The thing that chases you is always near. You can hear it. You can feel it. But if you look at it…”
“Collective Progress _ Players’ collective global efforts can change the environment, unlocking new locations, hidden characters, and secret quests over time.”
It’s that last feature that stands out to us; it sounds like a great way to get players invested in coming back to continue their ride through the fog. While you may not be cycling alongside your friends, you won’t have to go it alone, with the trailer ending with a cute Pomeranian sitting in your basket.

Quite A Ride is a big departure from Goodwin Games’ first game, but the unsettling visuals and oppressive atmosphere, coupled with some unique-looking gameplay, have quickly settled any initial worries for us. We look forward to seeing more of Quite A Ride down the road.
