Xbox Game Studios has really found its groove of late with a steady flow of releases. Today the team at Xbox and Compulsion announced via Xbox Wire that their next release, South Of Midnight, has gone gold ahead of its April 8th release date.

South Of Midnight will be Compulsion Games first release under the Xbox banner. It's last game, We Happy Few released back in 2018. While it received mixed reviews it was personally one of my favourite games of the year and I'm excited to see what they've cooked up with South Of Midnight.

Compulsion is known for building gorgeous worlds and creative stories and South Of Midnight certainly appears to be continuing that. Set in the stunning American Deep South, the third person action-adventure game will feature a tight 10-12 hour campaign with a narrative focused experience.

You will play as Hazel, a Weaver who features some magical powers as she encounters southern folklore creatures. Hazels hometown will experience a tragedy and it is up to Hazel to get to the bottom of it and untangle the web of her own families history.

Soundtrack Available Today

Additionally Xbox announced that the games original soundtrack is available today on streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Bandcamp. If you are like me and purchased the stunning art book that is releasing soon after the game, you will receive the soundtrack in vinyl form.

South Of Midnight releases April 8th on Xbox Series S/X, PC and available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. For those who simply can't wait you can purchase the premium upgrade to access the game on April 3rd.
