Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to receive “an ambitious content roadmap in the coming years”, including the much anticipated Horde Mode. It will likely come as no surprise to people that Saber Interactive would begin working on Space Marine 3, but Bert went as far as to tease content that would be included in the next game.
“Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games. Developed in close collaboration with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will take the genre to new heights by introducing large-scale battles that are even more spectacular”.
Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive echoed much of what Bert said, describing Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 as a “transformative game” for the studio.
“We are now starting to develop Space Marine 3,” said Karch, “a game that carries with it tremendous expectations from our rapidly expanding fanbase. While we will continue to support and grow the Space Marine 2 universe over the coming years, we will take all our learnings and apply them to an even bigger and more spectacular game for the third installment.“
Back in January, it was announced that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 had seen over six million players take up arms in the name of the Emperor since it launched on September 9th, 2024. It holds a Metacritic score of 82, and was nominated for numerous awards, including The Steam Awards 2024 Game of the Year.
In the closing paragraph of the press release, Karch stated that the team saw this as an opportunity to make “a true love letter to the Warhammer 40.000 universe”.
More information on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will be revealed at a later date.
