Kojima Productions dropped a lengthy new trailer today during a panel at SXSW 2025 for Death Stranding 2. The trailer was packed with information including a release date, physical and digital versions and more.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated game of 2025. The follow up to the 2019 first game is a direct sequel, once again featuring actor Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges. It is currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The all-star cast also includes Troy Baker and Ellie Fanning.
Summers First Big Release
As we slowly begin to get release dates for games beyond April, Death Stranding 2 is the first major release to plant its flag in the summer. Death Stranding 2 will release June 26th, with a digital deluxe and collectors edition that will allow for 48 hour early access on June 24th.
Physical & Digital Editions
On top of the expected standard physical and digital editions there’s a couple other editions. The digital deluxe edition will cost $80 USD and comes with that 48 hour early access.

The collectors edition is quite the package. For $230 USD you get a 15″ statue, Dollman figurine, art cards and letter from Kojima, as well as various in-game rewards. The collectors edition will not feature a disc however, instead offering a code in a box.
Death Stranding 2 will look to build on the 16 million players the first game found. While the game released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, it later came to PC in 2020 with a Director’s Cut for PlayStation 5 in 2021. It also later came to Xbox in 2024.
