Veterans of Monster Hunter know that there are monsters, and then there are MONSTERS. For people new to the series we're talking the alphas. They play a big part in the hunt for upgrading gear but also for a specific achievement or trophy. This guide will help you with that.
A Keen-eyed Observation
One achievement/trophy in Monster Hunter Wilds is called "A Keen-eyed Observation". It is unlocked by using your binoculars to spot a gold crowned large monster, also known as the alpha of a species. While there are a few in the game the easiest, and earliest time to spot one is the Alpha Doshaguma.
Your first opportunity to get this is during the "A Hunter's Pride" quest in chapter 1. You will get a few cutscenes involving it before having to fight it. Have your binoculars equipped and as soon as you can use them and look at the alpha to unlock this. Pretty simple right? While it is, most likely miss doing this on their first attempt and you can't replay missions...except for one way.
If you happened to miss this opportunity during the mission you can use the question menu. Open it up and select in order:
- Post/Join Quest
- SOS Flare Quests
- Target: Doshaguma
- Difficulty: Low Rank
- Quest Type: Assignment
Once you've got that setup search and find a multiplayer game to join. This will allow you to you another chance at getting your binoculars out to take a look. Hope this helps you all on your monster hunting journey.
