Good news Tony Hawk fans, Activision announced today that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are indeed coming, and are being remade from the ground up.
Speculation about the games have been swirling with countdowns appearing in the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 map, Grind and on the official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater website during February. Pro skateboarder Tyshawn Jones also mentioned he was featuring in a new Tony Hawk game on the Breakfast Club podcast, stating; “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool… They got a new one they’re remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.”
The official announcement confirms that he’ll be joined by a roster of other pro skateboarders; “Choose from a legendary pro skater roster that includes Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg, and Bob Burnquist, or opt for the new skaters, including Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome. And, in true Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fashion, there will be secrets to unlock.”
It also contained details about the soundtrack, with classics returning from the original game and new songs that “capture the spirit of modern skate culture”. The game will also feature brand new maps that you can hang out with your friends in the cross-play multiplayer for up to 8 players.
The game is set to release on July 11th across all platforms (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch) and will be dropping on Game Pass Ultimate and PC. Pre-orders are available now, which includes access to the Foundry Demo in June (except for Nintendo Switch players).
Players that pre-order the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, will get 3 days early access to the full game. Both editions also come with exclusive skins such as the Doom Slayer and Revenant characters, in-game skate decks, and Create-a-Skater items. The Collector’s Edition also comes with a Limited-Edition full-size Birdhouse skateboard deck complete with a printed autograph from Tony Hawk himself.
