Monster Hunter Wilds is filled with many different things to do. One of those things are grabbing ancient wyvern coins. While they have their uses you need to at least collect one for the “A Prize Held High” achievement/trophy. This guide will help you locate and grab the easiest one to get. This can also be repeated to collect many coins which will help with armor upgrades.
Ancient Wyvern Coin Grind Method
To grab this ancient wyvern coin you will have first needed to make it to the Scarlet Forest area. Once there you will have to find Area 6: Flowering Rocks. In this area there is a small pond. I suggest building the pop-up camp here before doing anything else. Once you’ve done that head to the pond in behind the pop-up camp. Make sure to equip your net as you do.
Once at the pond you may or may not see a little Curioshell crab running around with what looks like a gold crown on its head. If you do use your net and capture it. This will give you the coin and the achievement/trophy. If you don’t see the crab simply fast travel to another map (ie Windward Plains) and fast travel back. It seems like it’s about a 50/50 chance of spawning.
Now if all you care about is the achievement or trophy, you’ve done all you need to do. However if you want to grind out a bunch or ancient wyvern coins here you can continue to fast travel back and forth capturing the crab over and over. Doing this method you will easily get a coin every few minutes.
