Yellow Brick Games’ maiden title Eternal Strands, which was released on January 28th, has received a new update called the Day 30 patch.
“We are so glad to be sharing our first major patch with you all today,” begins the update post on the game’s Steam Page, “Thanks to your feedback and reports over the past month, we've been able to make some significant improvements to Eternal Strands and fix a list of top priority bugs & crashes.”

There are quite a few fixes and updates coming to Eternal Strands, including UI/UX improvements, bug fixes for quests, and quality of life changes among others. Here are a few that we felt were worth highlighting, but you can check the patch update for a full list.
- Removed loot penalty for deaths from out of bounds falls.
- Implemented a directional hit reaction system, where enemies will react in the direction relative to the player's attack.
- Brynn's minimum acceleration speed has been enhanced.
- Added an option to speed up the credits.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to complete the quest “A shift in perspective” without meeting the mandatory criteria.
- When reading a dialogue too big to fit in the Dialogue box in one go, skipping will progress to the other part of the text instead of skipping to the next dialogue.
- Removed the DLSS “Ultra Quality” mode which was not working as intended.
Eternal Strands has already seen a handful of updates, and the team at Yellow Brick Games are no doubt hard at work getting these patches ready. This is also while they get new content for the game ready, with the developers recently announcing a content roadmap for Eternal Strands, beginning in the Spring. As part of the promised future content, Yellow Brick Games is teaming up with Grasshopper Manufacture founded by Goichi Suda, widely known as Suda51.
Eternal Strands released to glowing reviews and praise from both fans and critics, releasing early in the year so as not to get lost in the shuffle of massive releases that we are currently in the middle of. It also launched on Xbox Game Pass; a great way to get a new game into more people’s hands who may not otherwise take the risk on buyinng it full price. We have yet to get any concrete sales numbers for the game, but hopefully it has seen enough success to guarantee the studio’s future.
