Forza Horizon 5 Launching April 29th On PlayStation 5 With Pro Enhancements

We now have a firm release date for the PlayStation 5 port of Xbox's biggest current generation game, Forza Horizon 5. The game will release via a premium edition on April 25th with a standard edition launching on April 29th.

The release date and many other announcements comes from the Forza website and gives us plenty of insight into what Forza will look like on PlayStation. Alongside the PlayStation launch will be the Horizon Realms update. Realms will feature 11 of the games previous best limited time locations from the Evolving Worlds as well as a new stadium track.

Forza's newest stadium track

Returning Evolving Worlds Tracks:

  • Stunt Park"¯
  • Ice Rink"¯
  • Oval Track"¯
  • Summer Party"¯
  • Neon Airstrip
  • Día de Muertos"¯
  • Winter Wonderland"¯
  • Lunar Drift Arena"¯
  • Retrowave Highway"¯
  • Cars and Coffee"¯
  • Stadium Maze

The update will also feature a new dedicated accolade tab exclusive to Horizon Realm. This accolades tab will feature 60+ accolades. Most will be needed accolades however some will return from previous Evolving World tracks.

Earning the accolades and completing challenges will also help you earn some new cars, 4 to be exact:

The new Horizon Realms update will also feature 2 new ways to experience Forza with Skill Mode and Free Mode. Skill mode is all about climbing the leaderboards of each new track while free mode throws away the leaderboards and just allows players to have some fun.

PlayStation 5 Pro Enhancements

While everything above was for all platforms there are some things specific to the PlayStation version, specifically the Pro enhancements. Forza Horizon 5 will have a 60fps performance mode and a 4k 30fps quality mode.

Specific to the Pro, Horizon 5 will feature Ray Tracing in quality mode. This is significant because it means it will have features the Xbox version doesn't have. The Xbox version only features Ray Tracing in photo mode and Forza Vistas.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Forza Horizon 5 is now available for pre-order on PlayStation for the premium, deluxe and standard editions. The standard edition features the base game and all free updates. The deluxe edition comes with access to an additional 42 cars. Lastly the premium edition comes with everything above as well as 4 days early access and both of the games previously released paid DLC expansions. Premium also comes with a VIP membership and extra perks.

Additionally all 3 versions will come with the following if you pre-order any version:

  • Forza Horizon 5's cover car: the 2021 Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG ONE
  • 5,000 #Forzathon Points which can be used to buy cars and cosmetics
