There are a lot of people who have been wanting a new Playstation 3 emulator built for Android operating systems. Just a couple of days ago, it looked like those people had something to look forward to as a new PS3 emulator called aPS3e was announced. However, it now looks like those people are going to have to wait for a new project.
On February 19th, 2025, Mr Sujano posted on his Twitter/X account that the emulator in question, which just had it’s Github page launch days ago on February the 17th, now tosses up a “404 error” code when you try to bring up the emulator’s Github page.
I would say this isn’t entirely unexpected. After the APK for the project was data mined, source code for both RPCS3 and Termux were found. A complaint appears to have been filed on behalf of the team behind RPCS3, which for those who don’t know is another PlayStation 3 emulator.
As if that wasn’t enough, the developers were asking for $5,000 worth of donations before the code would be released, which was later dropped to just $2,000, which is highly unusual in a project like this. The original listing, which can only be accessed through the Wayback Machine, has a PayPal link, which is now dead and can’t even be accessed through the Wayback Machine.
Personally, I hope not too many people donated to this project as I’m unsure if they would be able to get any of their money back.
