Going in to Avowed looking for pain and found it? Well, we got the bandages you need to get you through this. Don’t let Ralke discourage you from tackling this game on Path of the Damned difficulty. Attack Patterns

He has a small amount of move sets making it easy for you to predict his next move. The issue is his reach. Without prompt, he will charge you and swipe at you 3-4 times. The only way to prepare for this move, is to watch for him leaning back as if he will slam his hammer down in front of you. You may think you are in the clear, but no matter where you stand, this guy practically teleports to you to attack. Be prepared to dodge 4 times and keep as much distance as possible.

You want to keep your distance when he is done swinging his 3-4 swipes, because half the time he ends them with a slam of his hammer. That slam causes major damage to a good distance around him.

The only other move to watch out for is pretty cut and dry. He will hold still and you will need to look at the red circle surrounding him to avoid fire damage.

The Strategy

In order to avoid these attacks, keep your eye focused on your stamina meter. You need to always have enough to dodge multiple times. If dodging isn’t working for you, you will need to rely heavily on ranged attacks and running through the secret passage way.

Entering the cave entrance will lead you on a path to get the a bridge. A tactic you can use to help you avoid all those close ranged attacks. You will come out on the bridge you see in the picture below. You can essentially just run this route and shoot him with ranged attacks as you run in circles.

I personally did not use this route as I didn’t struggle too much with dodging his attacks. If you watched the video I got hit a couple of times, but that was still enough to down me once. I used magic to fight him. Having quick access to spells that could do good damage while not taking a hit on my stamina bar too harshly is what helped the most.

I used freeze attacks to slow him down while I proceeded to use my wand causing constant damage. This short and simple strategy had him down in no time.
