Here at Gamer Social Club, we take pride in the fact that we like to prop up many different indie developers on our website. Sadly, once in a while one comes around that shakes the trust a lot of us have in these indie devs, and sadly that’s what I’m here to talk about.
A post by the official SteamDB account on Twitter/XÂ on February 12th, 2025, has detailed that a game called PirateFI was removed from the platform two days ago, as it was found to have malware in the build of the game that was uploaded to the Steam PC platform.

Users that played the game have received the following email: pic.twitter.com/B98BFs0WbK
Anyone who has played the game in question has been sent to the following email, encouraging anyone who had played the game in question to do a “Full System Scan” on their PC with whatever Anti-virus program they trust to remove any suspicious programs you may find.
Thankfully Valve is a lot more responsive when it comes to malware and the security of their users, than compared to the general curation of games sold on Steam.

According to Documentation on SteamDB, the developer behind the game, in question is called SeaWorld Interactive. PiratePI appears to be the only title that this developer is involved with. If you played the game and had any further questions or concerns in relation to the game, you are encouraged to contact steam support here.
