Marvel Rivals Cancels Rank Reset

Marvel Rivals publisher NetEase games has heard its fan base and they are listening. After facing backlash from the community, they have decided they will not be resetting ranks of its players. Instead, players can expect to earn more rewards should they meet the updated conditions. These conditions go live when the second half of the season begins February 21st.

It is important to note that the rank reset was not going to be a full reset. Instead, this would have been a drop of four divisions if they had moved forward with this plan. These resets are not unheard of in competitive gaming. However the timeline of the announcement to the reset was a rather quick turnaround time. Initially announced on February 10th, in less than 24 hours, they changed course. While players will no longer see the reset this season, they can still expect to see the introduction of the final half of the Fantastic Four. New heroes The Thing and Human Torch will be joining the roster this season.

For players who will end at gold rank during the first half of season one, they'll receive a costume reward and Crests of Honors for those Grandmaster and above. The second half of the season there will be a new gold rank costume and a variety of Crests of Honors.

Marvel Rivals has had a strong showing since its release in December 2024 and they continue to strive to be the best and feel listening to the community is part of this.
