After a lengthy outage of its PlayStation Network that lasted a full 24 hours for many, fans hoped to receive some sort of compensation. PlayStation appears to be making good on that, though it is a little underwhelming for most.
Earlier this morning the AskPlayStation account posted that all PlayStation Plus subscribers would receive an additional 5 days of the service.
"Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service." the post reads.

This means for those of you who pay monthly your next payment should come out 5 days later now. For those that have paid for multiple months or even years it will be awhile before you receive your free compensation.
This amount of compensation has left many fans upset saying it should be more. Others are happy to at least receive something.
What Caused The Outage?
Of course what most fans what to know is what actually happened to cause the lengthy outage. Originally it was said to be a maintenance outage, however those typically don't last a full day. Did something go wrong with the maintenance? Was it a cyber attack of some sort?
We unfortunately may never get an answer beyond today's "operational issue" given in today's post. That is vague at best and will likely cause some trust issues for fans, but for now it's all we've got.
Are you happy with this amount of compensation or do you simply want a better explanation? Sound off in the comments.
