Update: PlayStation Network Fully Back After Nearly 24 Hour Outage

Update #5: Where were you during the great PlayStation Network outage of 2025? After nearly 24 hours the outage is over. There has been no official reasoning from PlayStation yet but at least things are up and running. Enjoy your weekend gaming PlayStation players.

Update #4: As of 4pm EST users are beginning to report online services are back up and running. While others are still down it is a good sign that some PlayStation users are getting back to full functionality which should mean everyone will be up and running shortly.

Update #3: As of 3pm EST some users are reporting that they are able to get back online and go to the PlayStation Store as well as see other friends online. However most report being unable to launch any games as of yet. This hopefully means things are slowly being fixed and the outage won't last much longer.

There remains no official update from PlayStation since yesterday's acknowledgment of an issue.

Update #2: The PlayStation Network outage has now been occurring for 12+ hours. The original reason for the outrage was reportedly due to maintenance however after 12 hours it would appear to now be a bigger issue. PlayStation has still yet to comment further beyond saying they are aware it is down.

Update #1: PlayStation Network status is now showing issues "You might have difficulty signing in or creating an account for PlayStation Network. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."

Original Story: It's Friday night, which for many gamers means it's time to unwind, pick up a controller and play some games. Unfortunately for many on PlayStation that isn't the case with many reporting issues with the PlayStation Network being down.

While PlayStation themselves have yet to address the issue we have seen many complaints from gamers as well as some publishers such as Bethesda report something to suggest there are issues.

Because of the current lack of information from PlayStation we don't know how widespread the issue is. If we get any updates we will update this article. But rest assured, if you can't log in you aren't the only one.
