Nintendo fans across the world, rejoice – we're getting more updates on the highly anticipated Switch 2! A special Nintendo Direct will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at 6 AM PST. This special Direct will offer fans a closer look at the new console.

The sequel console to Nintendo's 2017 initial release of the Switch has been a highly discussed topic over the past few years. Following Nintendo's announcement on 1/16/2025 of a first-look trailer at the Switch, the internet has been buzzing since! Check out Gamer Social Club’s coverage of the initial announcement here.

Nintendo reported in this January announcement that the new console would play Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as both physical and digital games from the original Switch. They clarified that some games may not be supported on or will be fully compatible with the Switch 2. Nintendo will share more details on their site at a later date.

Following the upcoming Nintendo Direct for the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo will host several Nintendo Switch 2 Experiences. These world-wide events will allow Nintendo fans to go hands-on and try out the new Switch.
