We've said it a lot, but 2025 is set to be a massive year for video game releases. January was the appetizer and February is looking like the main course, starting with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 which hit a major milestone its first day.

Indeed Kingdom Come Deliverance has been out all of 24 hours and it has already surpassed a million copies sold according to developer Warhorse. This comes after the game got rave reviews from critics as there are already some potential Game Of The Year talks happening.

While the first game was a bit of a cult classic with critics much more mixed and fans either fawning over it or thinking it was just ok, the sequel has appeared to live up to the hype. It is a rare example of a studio taking a franchise from an average game to a top tier game with the follow up.

The first game has gone on to sell 8 million units as of November 2024, so the potential is there for the franchise.

Having just started it myself lastnight I can see what all the hype is about. The world of Bohemia is gorgeous and the writing is top notch. I'm looking forward to diving in more.

I've also got to give Warhorse a quick shoutout for the stunning collectors edition they created. As some of you may know I'm a big advocate for physical games and they did not disappoint with their collectors edition. The statue is one of the best I've seen in quite some time and was reasonably priced.
