One of Xbox's main pillars is making its way to rival PlayStation. In a post to the Forza website it is confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will be launching this spring on PlayStation 5.
While Xbox has been busy porting games from the Xbox console over to PlayStation this past year, many debated if that would include their core franchises such as Forza, Gears Of War and Halo. The wondering can now stop with today's announcement.
"With nearly 900 cars available in the game, over 40 thematic game updates, two expansions, and so much more content, our team is excited to announce that this spring, PlayStation 5 players will be able to explore Mexico's beautiful roads and experience the Horizon Festival for the first time as we are officially launching Forza Horizon 5 on PS5" the statement reads.

The PlayStation 5 port is being developed by Panic Button (some Xbox players will be likely pressing a panic button) in partnership with Turn 10 and Playground Games.
Truth be told I thought this might be the least likely of the Xbox games to get ported. Forza Horizon 6 likely isn't too far off and with licensing deals 5 may not be on shelves for much longer. Regardless it is by far the most popular game in the Xbox stable and this will only further that.
Free Update Coming
Also as part of today's announcement the Forza team says a new free update is coming to Forza Horizon 5 soon. The update is called Horizon Realms which will allow "players the chance to explore a curated collection of some of the community's favorite previously released Evolving Worlds."
There are other things coming with the free update which the Forza team will share at a later date.
Forza Horizon 5 is already available to wish list on the PlayStation Store which you can do so here.
