The gaming community has been clamouring for years for a new Dino Crisis and it's finally here...kind of. The team behind PlayStation exclusive Quantum Error has announced its next game, Code Violet, and has called it a spiritual successor to the beloved Dino Crisis franchise.
We don't have much to go on just yet beyond a name however. The announcement via X was simply to say that the codename project V that they have been working on is Code Violet. They will be showing a reveal trailer this Friday, January 17th at 2PM EST so we should get a better idea of what Code Violet is then.
They did however show a couple of screenshots to tease the game which you can see below. Also they've been answering some fan questions to say the game is a third-person shooter akin to the Resident Evil Remakes. It will also be their most cinematic experience yet according to another response. Lastly it appears that Code Violet is only in production for PlayStation 5 and PC like their previous games.

Who Is TeamKill?
For those wondering who TeamKill is, they are most known for Quantum Error, the 2023 PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game did later release on PC as well however the reception was not great. The game sits at a 40 on metacritic and doesn't fare much better from user reviews.
The game also became a bit of a lightning rod for the console wars when the developers said the Xbox version is taking longer due to its slower SSD. To this day an Xbox version has not released. Whether all of that was a ploy to drum up interest in the game or if it was genuinely an issue remains to be seen.
Either way the initial reaction to today's news has been one of excitement. Saying Code Violet is a spiritual successor to one of the most beloved franchises in history is certainly a bold claim. Hopefully they can pull it off. We shall see on Friday.
