Odd Bug Studio has shared some new details on its new 2D Action Adventure RPG game with us today. The game is a follow up to its highly acclaimed game Tails of Iron that came out in 2021 where it currently sits at a very positive rating on Steam and is available on all platforms.
Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter description reads, “Embark upon a vast, snow-ravaged kingdom in Tails of Iron 2, sequel to the critically acclaimed action-RPG. As Arlo, heir to the Warden of the Wastes, adventure through harsh northern lands, home to giant beasts and ragtag bandits, in an epic quest to overcome an ancient, blood-starved evil.”.
In the game you will experience…
- Explore a vast, wintry kingdom: Fully narrated by RPG legend Doug Cockle (The Witcher franchise, Alan Wake 2, Baldur's Gate 3) prepare to embark on an epic adventure across the northern realm and biomes of the Ratdom; an expansive, frost-bitten land on the brink of all-out war.
- Hunt down giant beasts: Track down and defeat 15 legendary beasts of the Ratdom's northern frontier and be rewarded with rare resources with which to craft devastating equipment. But be warned, these colossal creatures won't go down without a fight... and then some.
- Unleash the power of gods: Unlock the power of the four deities and unleash their powerful "˜Elementa' spells in combat; harness the magics of fire, poison, ice, and electric upon the damned malevolent Dark Wings!

One of the new things being added to the sequel is the ability to cast spells called, ‘Elementa’. In the new trailer you will see cool powers being used such as fire, poison, thunder, and ice. Watching the trailer below, you will get to see them paired with the Rat’s mighty sword in gruesome combat.
Jack Bennet, the lead designer of the game had this to share about its new additions. "We've been excitedly waiting to share the news for a while that spellcasting is coming to the Ratdom in Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. Mastering the brutal combat of sword and spear against ferocious opposition is something fans of the original game were accustomed to, so for the follow-up we really wanted to introduce another layer of in-the-moment combat options for players to command and use against Arlo's foes. The "˜Elementa' magics of the gods, coupled with the addition of traps, gives players that extra layer to consider, and more."
The game will come out January 28th 2025 and is set to release on PC, PlayStation®5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can get it digitally in two editions, standard and deluxe. The Deluxe edition will include 2 DLC packs. The "˜Augur of the Draugr' and "˜Hair to the Throne'. The "˜Augur of the Draugr' set includes the legendary Draugr armour and the "˜Hair to the Throne' cosmetic pack will include cosmetics that include exclusive beard styles and hairstyles. The PC Deluxe edition will also feature a digital artbook along with an official soundtrack.
