Nvidia Has Announced The RTX Blackwell 50 Series GPU’S

Today is January 6th, 2025 and while some people unfortunately had to go back to work today, today was also the first day of CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and while AMD showed a lot and Intel was there, what everyone is waiting for is Nvidia’s new cards and we have some news on that.

Most of the specs that were talked about were in relation to the RTX Blackwell 5090 of course. “The GeForce RTX 5090 GPU "” the fastest GeForce RTX GPU to date "” features 92 billion transistors, providing over 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS) of computing power. Blackwell architecture innovations and DLSS 4 mean the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU outperforms the GeForce RTX 4090 GPU by up to 2x.”

A big highlight as relates to the new cards is DLSS 4. DLSS 4 will feature Multi Frame Generation to boost frame rates. Supposedly it will use AI to generate up to 3X the frame rate. The new cards will also feature RTX neural shaders, NVIDIA ACE and new ray tracing tech for hair an skin.

The new card will also feature AI TOPS (Tera Operations per Second). TOPS is a term used to measure, simplify, and advertise Neural Processing Unit (NPU) performance in an AI PC. The RTX 5090 will have 3,352 AI TOPS, the 5080 GPU 1,801 AI TOPS, the 5070 TI 1,406 AI TOPS and last the 4070 988 AI TOPS.

RTX Blackwell GPU Pricing

  • RTX 5090- $1,999USD
  • RTX 5080- $999USD
  • RTX 5070 TI- $749USD
  • RTX 5070- $549USD

As I said before they mostly focused on the specs of the 5090 card, however they are claim RTX 4090 performance out of the RTX 5070. I’ll admit this caught my attention, however I’d suggest interested readers wait for reviews before jumping on it (I will be).

Honestly the prices caught me off guard, but not in a bad way. Earlier in the day AMD did their CES keystones event and didn’t feature their new 9070 or 9070xt cards. They exist as they were announced online after the fact, but we still have no price. AMD may have waited to see what NVIDIA did price wise and that looks have been smart.

The RTX Blackwell 5090 and 5080 will be available on January 30th. The 5070 TI and 5070 will be available at some point in February. Do any of these GPU’S interest you? Comment below.
