Have you been wrongly banned from the Microsoft Rewards service? Don’t worry, you are not the only one! Over the last few hours, many users of the Microsoft Rewards programme found themselves suspended from the service, seemingly for no reason.
Certain users were met by a screen showing Microsoft’s terms and conditions for the service, with their accounts locked and inaccessible. This wouldn’t be a problem, or even a story, if it weren’t for the fact that these suspensions are a mistake. This has led to a rush of Xbox users going to Reddit, looking for answers and sharing their grief.

While breaking the terms and conditions laid out by Microsoft would lead to an account suspension, many users of today’s bans claim not to have broken any rules. From having multiple accounts per home or per individual, to providing false information when signing up, there are plenty of good reasons that you could be banned. But it is hard to believe this many people are all guilty of one of these transgressions.
Thankfully, Microsoft has begun taking action, and took to social media to let their fans know that they are on the case. “We’ve deployed a fix, and any affected accounts should be back online in the next several hours” Says the Twitter post from the official Microsoft Rewards Support account, “Thank you for your understanding as we address this.” It is good to see Microsoft quick to respond to this situation, but it does beg the question: What happened?

We may never know how this happened, and let’s just hope that the issue is rectified quickly with no fallout.
