Xbox Game Pass looks set to have a banner year in 2025 with a long list of day 1 games headed to the service. Unfortunately games will also leave the service and we now know which ones will be leaving later in January headlined by a previous day 1 release.
Indeed there are a total of 6 games leaving the service on January 25th headlined by online games Exoprimal and Insurgency: Sandstorm.
Games Leaving Game Pass In January
- Exoprimal
- Insurgency: Sandstorm
- Escape Academy
- Common'hood
- Those Who Remain
- Figment: Journey To The Mind
Capcom was hoping Exoprimal might be its next big IP, however things didn't quite materialize the way they had hoped. The game didn't quite connect with fans as many simply wanted a new Dino Crisis instead. While the game is still playable Capcom has already pulled support on future seasonal content.

Insurgency: Sandstorm has fared much better, especially over on PC as the game has proven fairly popular. It's a bit of a throwback to the multiplayer shooters of past generations and it has resonated with fans. Having played this one a fair bit myself it's worth a look in my opinion.
The other 4 games are all smaller indies that sadly most likely won't pay attention to. The most notable here is Escape Academy as it's found a place in the Xbox achievement community due to its relatively easy achievement list.
Thankfully there is plenty coming in January to the service for players to help will the missing void with 5 games already confirmed for January. With Sniper Elite Resistance, Eternal Strands and Citizen Sleeper 2 all coming day 1, it's going to be a great month.
