Sega has had a phenomenal 2024 and it looks like they are looking for a repeat performance in 2025. Today the company announced arcade fighter Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2, coming next year to console and PC.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be developed by CyberConnect2 and is a sequel to Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. Featuring a brand new story for the series protagonist Tanjiro Kamado you will take Tanjiro on an adventure with both familiar and new storylines. Players will relive moments from "Entertainment District Arc,” “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Hashira Training Arc.”
Hinokami Chronicles 2 will also feature a versus mode with more than 40 playable characters including Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji. All players from the original game will return including those added in free and paid updates post launch. The nine Hashira, the highest rank of the Demon Slayer Corps., will also join the game as playable characters.
It should come as little surprise to see Hinokami Chronicles receive a sequel after it sold 4 million copies worldwide. It was also nominated for best fighting game at The Game Awards in 2021.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be releasing sometime in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.
