A few months ago I wrote an article about just how stacked February 2025 was for games and that at least one of the games would likely need to move its release date. Today we have the first domino to drop as Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has moved its date up, though it's still in February.

Today developer Warhorse Studios announced that they are indeed moving up the release date of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 a full week to February 4th. With this move it ensures that it will be the first of the major February releases to come out. That stacked lineup includes the likes of Civilization VII and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage as well as other RPGs Assassins Creed Shadows, Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds and Like A Dragon Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.
Deliverance 2 is a direct sequel to the original game that released back in 2018. Lauded by fans for its realism and fantastic setting, Kingdom Come Deliverance was a breakout hit, selling 8 million copies as of November 2024.
Deliverance 2 is expected to deliver more of what made the first such a hit as they return to Bohemia on an even grander scale. Warhorse has previously stated that Deliverance 2 is twice as big as the original in every way. Also announced today was that the game has already gone gold. With the game 2 months out that is a great sign that the game is already available to be pressed and shipped
Only time will tell if this is the right move, but in my opinion if the game is good then it absolutely is the right move to get out ahead of the rush. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 releases on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and PC February 4th 2025.
