It's award season in gaming right now with the Golden Joystick awards taking place last week and the Game Awards just over a week away. Lastnight in the UK, the TIGA awards went on with Helldivers 2 taking the top prize for game of the year. What other games won? Let's dig into it.
First off, for those wondering what exactly the TIGA awards are, it's an event highlighting and celebrating excellence in the UK games industry. So if your first thought in any of these categories is "what about this game?!?", if it wasn't developed in the UK in some capacity it isn't eligible.
As mentioned off the top, Helldivers 2 won the Game Of The Year at TIGA. Helldivers 2 also came away with the Best In Technical Innovation award as well as the Best Visual Design award.
Infact PlayStation had a great night overall with both Spider-Man 2 (best use of a license) and The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered (best narrative) taking home some hardware.
It was a decent night for Xbox and Ninja Theory as well with Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 taking home two awards for Best Action Adventure and Diversity In Games.
A few other highlights include Rebellion winning Best Large Studio and Dlala Studio winning Best Small Studio while nDreams won Best Publisher.
