As many of you know, I thoroughly enjoyed Silent Hill 2 this year, but even in my review, I acknowledged its performance issues, particularly as it came to the random stutters that seemed to even themselves out in the later half of the game. Blooper Team has been hard at work to fix the game, though, and as of a few patches ago, the stutter issues seem to have gone away at least for me.
Patch 1.06 for SILENT HILL 2 has just landed on Steam and PlayStation 5! It includes various adjustments for both versions of the game and fixes for graphics issues on PlayStation 5 Pro.

However, there’s still more to be done, and Blooper Team is still hard at work. Blooper Team announced on twitter/X that patch 1.06 for the game seems to have gone live in the early A.M. on Friday, November 22nd. The patch notes, which you can see below, seem to be getting smaller with each patch, and that’s good to see.

Honestly, quality mode seems worse than before. Performance mode is a bit better though. This obviously needed more work. Callisto protocol and others have proven PSSR is a game changer when implemented properly. This falls way short still.

While it does say they’ve worked on the PS5 Pros graphical issues, it does appear people are still having issues on this console version like Luke in the above tweet. Blooper Team has acknowledged the issues, so I’d assume more fixes for the console are coming. Blooper Team hasn’t shown any signs of abandoning updates for the game.
