Last week we learned that Compulsion Games and Xbox would be releasing a documentary and deep dive for its upcoming game South Of Midnight. Well that time has come as the documentary has been released.
The documentary, titled Weaving Hazel’s Journey, is 30 minutes long and features a behind the scenes look at how South Of Midnight is being created as well as a new look at the game itself. South Of Midnight is Compulsions first game under the Xbox banner and first since 2016’s We Happy Few. Xbox also released a blog detailing even more information for South Of Midnight.

We’re also proud to announce The Art & Music of South of Midnight, a box set featuring a meticulously designed art book, soundtrack vinyl, comic book, and more.”
We’ve also learned that South Of Midnight is running on Unreal Engine 4 and is aiming 60fps on consoles.
The art and music box set is available for pre-order now and is designed in collaboration with publishing company Cook & Becker. The collection features a stunning 160 page art book with gold foil and gilded edges as well as a two-LP vinyl with the full soundtrack of the game presented in a beautiful gatefold, all with original concept art and designs from the production of South of Midnight. It should be noted this collection does not include the game and there is no word if South Of Midnight will receive a physical edition.
Also included is a South Of Midnight comic book, an artwork on metal and a Big Game Tours fridge magnet featuring an alligator and an airboat.
Impressive Cast
Lastly Compulsion revealed its star studded acting cast for South Of Midnight including many notable actors and actresses that helped bring the game to life. South of Midnight features Performance & Voice Director Ahmed Best (‘Star Wars Episodes I-III’, ‘The Mandalorian’, Fallout 76), Adriyan Rae (‘Chicago Fire’, ‘Vagrant Queen’, ‘Atlanta’), Actress and Motion Capture for Hazel, and Nona Parker Johnson (‘Fear The Walking Dead’, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’), the Motion Capture and Stunt Actress for Hazel.
All in all it appears Compulsion is well on its way to delivering a fantastic game. South Of Midnight is expected to release in 2025.
