Easy Achievements / Trophy Games: Week of October 7 -13th

This week's article is slightly delayed due to Canadian Thanksgiving. We hope all the Canadian gamers enjoyed a nice long weekend! Last week was a stackaholic’s dream for Xbox achievement lovers, with plenty of platforming and puzzling to dive into.

Cats and Seek: Osaka Cover Art

Cats and Seek: Osaka (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5)

Estimated Completion Time: 1 hour
Publisher: Silesia Games
Developers: Noobzilla
Release Date: October 9, 2024
Xbox Store Links: Xbox
Playstation Store Links: PS4, PS5

Just the one achievement list available on Xbox. Trophy stack available on PlayStation with the PS4 and PS5 versions.

Cats and Seek: Osaka is another excellent hidden object game from Silesia Games and Noobzilla. Compared to some of Silesia Games’ other titles, this one is a bit more challenging to complete. The game includes three levels and offers two modes of play: regular and timed. In total, there are 307 cats to find across all three levels.

The main difficulty comes from the timed mode, where you need to finish each level in under four minutes. While this can feel daunting and may require a few attempts, there’s a helpful trick: you can pause the game to check the map and find any cats you’ve missed without the timer continuing to run. Although the game is paused, you can still move the map around, giving you an edge.

Additionally, the game allows you to customize the colors of the background and the found cats. Finding the right color combination can enhance your overall experience and make the game more enjoyable.

My Big Sister: Remastered Cover Art

My Big Sister: Remastered (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5)

Estimated Completion Time: 1-3 Hours
Publisher: Ratalaika Games
Developers: Stranga, GrabTheGames
Release Date: October 11, 2024
Xbox Store Links: Xbox
Playstation Store Links: PS4/PS5

Just the one achievement list availalble on Xbox. Platinum Trophy stack available on PlayStation with the PS4 and PS5 version along with cross-buy.

My Big Sister: Remastered is releasing this week from solo developer Stranga. As the title suggests, this is a remaster of My Big Sister, originally released in 2019 on Xbox. Interestingly, it also serves as the sequel to Ashina: The Red Witch, another quick and easy game I'd recommend. While it's debatable whether a pixelated game needs a “remaster,” this version includes new story content, completely redone artwork, and a brand-new soundtrack.

The game is a top-down, point-and-click adventure that follows two sisters as they try to lift a curse from the older sister, Sombria. Players control Luzia, who must navigate a strange, unsettling world to save her sister and find a way home. The game features plenty of puzzles and offers multiple endings.

In terms of achievements, many are similar to those in the original game, but there are also several new ones. If you’re looking to complete it quickly, using a guide is recommended, and the game can be completed in just over an hour.

Massi Cover Art

Massi (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5)

Estimated Completion Time: 30 – 40 minutes
Publisher: Ratalaika Games
Developers: Farid Iberraken
Release Date: October 8, 2024
Xbox Store Links: Xbox
Playstation Store Links: PS4/PS5

Just the one achievement list availalble on Xbox. A Platinum Trophy stack available on PlayStation with the PS4 and PS5 version along with cross-buy.

Massi is a fast-paced adventure platformer packed with puzzles, exploration, and action. At the start, you defeat enemies by punching them, but you’ll soon earn a worthy sword. Parrying enemy attacks becomes necessary as the game progresses. Enemies drop coins, experience points, and sometimes health. As you level up, Massi gains more health. The game also includes stealth mechanics, where hiding behind a bush makes Massi invisible, allowing him to surprise enemies.

Occasionally, boss battles will block your path. To overcome them, Massi can purchase new equipment and learn new skills to aid in his quest to reclaim his throne.

For those seeking quick achievements or a platinum trophy, Massi offers a short completion time. You’ll need to defeat the first two bosses, collect coins, purchase a skill and an item, and change the color of Massi’s clothes. The game can be completed in around 30 minutes to an hour.

Mimi the Cat: New Friends is a sequel to Mimi the Cat: Mimi’s Scratcher, and it's an adorable Sokoban-style puzzle game. The goal in each level is to guide Mimi to her cat bed, with later levels introducing more complexity, such as moving, climbing, stacking, and pushing boxes. Some levels also feature special coins that unlock new cat skins, showcasing Mimi's friends.

The game includes 50 levels and can be completed quickly, especially with the help of a text input guide. At launch, it offers 2,000 Gamerscore, and more achievements are expected with future title updates. It’s a fun, fast-paced puzzle game for quick completion.

Mr. T-shirt Cover Art

Mr. T-Shirt is a fast-paced black-and-white platformer where you guide the character through 35 levels. In each level, you need to collect a key to unlock the exit door. Interestingly, Mr. T-Shirt has the ability to float, though he puffs out his hair rather than his T-shirt to do so …

Completion is very quick and can be achieved in as little as 15 minutes, making it a speedy and fun game to wrap up.

Torii Guardian Cover Art

Torii Guardian (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows)

Estimated Completion Time: 25-30 minutes
Publisher: Flying Islands Team
Developers: Flying Islands Team
Release Date: October 11, 2024
Xbox Store Links: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
Windows Store Link: Windows
Xbox Store Bundle Link: Xbox/Windows Bundle

Triple stack available on Xbox with the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows versions. A bundle is also available to purchase with all versions. Unfortunately, another no show on PlayStation this week.

Torii Guardian is a quick top-down tower defense action game. While it could be challenging, the accessibility options make it a breeze. You can enable features like no hero damage, no damage to the Torii, and increased gold earnings, allowing the game to practically run on autopilot after completing a few levels. With the extra gold, you can buy and upgrade numerous towers, with a focus on the second tower, which is stronger.

Before completing all the waves, make sure to buy a structure"”one of which can heal the hero over time. However, if the accessibility options are enabled, this healing feature becomes unnecessary. Still, purchasing the structure is required to unlock an achievement.

To fully complete the game, you need to survive all 25 waves and defeat the final boss. With accessibility options enabled, you'll easily earn enough money to purchase all the spirit towers, unlock different game modes, and upgrade your character for the required achievements.

Paper Plane Arena - A Medieval Fantasy Cover Art

Paper Plane Arena – A Medieval Fantasy (Xbox, One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4)

Estimated Completion Time: 1-2 Hours
Publisher: EpiXR Games
Developers: EpiXR Games
Release Date: October 11, 2024
Xbox Store Links: Xbox
Playstation Store Links: PS4

Just the one achievement list available on Xbox. Game has been announced for Playstation but not yet released. It will likely be PS4 only. Game can be wishlisted at the moment.

Another garbage Paper Plane series reskin release this week. 10 levels consisting of 3 waves where you fly your paper plane through colorful balloons to receive a charge so that you can boost into “bad balloons”. I guess it’s achievements, but I can not lie, I absolutely despise this series. Environment hit boxes are absolutely ridiculous, evil balloons are colored the exact same color as the environment so take much to long to find, and in some levels the screen tear is so bad you can’t even see where anything is. Ugh play it for achievements if you wish but these games suck!
