Dragon Age: The Veilguard Achievement List Revealed
As with most preloads, the achievement list has now been revealed on Xbox. The game consists of 52 achievements, 43 of which are secret for 1,000 Gamerscore.
Notably absent from the achievement list this time around is a difficulty-related achievement. This means you can enjoy the game and its story with your preferred settings if you’re aiming for full completion. There's been some debate about whether omitting difficulty achievements, like Dragon Age: Inquisition's Inquisitor achievement for completing the game on Nightmare without lowering the difficulty, is “dumbing down” games.
While I personally enjoyed the challenge of playing Dragon Age: Inquisition on Nightmare, I understand this can be a turn-off for some players. That’s why I applaud the decision to drop the difficulty requirement in a sprawling RPG such as this. Anything that encourages more people to experience these games, which developers work so hard on, is a win in my book.
The achievements in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are centered around:
- 14 unmissable story-related achievements.
- Completing questlines for six factions: Crows, Grey Wardens, Lords of Fortune, Mourn Watch, Shadow Dragons, and Veil Jumpers.
- Resolving all companion-related missions.
- Defeating all high dragons, exploring the entirety of Northern Thedas, and completing every Altar of Evanuris.
There are also several missable achievements, likely tied to the game’s ending. The rest of the list focuses on collectibles, leveling up Rook, and defeating enemies in specific ways. Overall, the achievement list encourages players to experience everything the game has to offer, but it doesn't seem too difficult.
