Halo Infinite Getting Third Person Mode This November

Have you ever wondered how Halo would play if it was in third person? Well you won't have to wait much longer as developer 343 Industries has announced a third person mode for Halo Infinite.

The third person mode was announced by 343 Industries during a Forge Panel at Friday's Halo World Championships, as well as on the Halo X account. The mode will be available sometime in November.

This will mark the first time in Halo's storied history that the game will have any sort of third person view. For now the mode will only launch in Firefight however according to Senior community manager John “Unyshek” Junyszek and Skybox Labs senior software engineer Colin Cove they will "also have the ability to do in PvP and control it in Forge,” per Cove.

There was no mention if we will ever get the third person perspective in the campaign. However due to forge controls it will be one possible to switch between first and third person easily and could lead to matches where players are playing in the same game with different perspectives.

Halo Infinite has a third person view mod already

It should be noted that while this is the first official time, third person has been added it has been added to previous games via mods including in Halo Infinite. While those mods were generally well received it seems that this announcement has been met with a mixed response. While many are ok with the addition they feel like there's more pressing things to be worked on with Infinite.

With the Halo Championships ongoing all weekend it's possible we get more Halo news in the coming days. If we do we will keep you up to date!
