Palworld Releases On Playstation In Japan

On September 24th, 2024, Sony had one of their many State Of Play's where among other things, Palworld was both announced and released that day to Playstations fans. One region of Playstation fans who didn’t get to play it were the fans in Japan. That situation has now been rectified.

Above, you will see a post from the Japanese Palworld Twitter account. Translated it reads:

🎊 Finally on sale in Japan 🎊
The PS5 ® version of “Palworld” is released today on the PS Store ✨

🔥 Multiplayer open world survival crafting game
🧭 Adventure with over 100 types of Pals
💪 The captured Pals can be trained, fought, or worked.

The reason for this delay has to do with Pocket Pair, the developer of Palworld being accused of patient infringement by Nintendo earlier this year. I’m a bit shocked by this development, but Pocket Pair doesn’t seem to be stopping the Palworld train between this and the mobile port that was announced earlier this week.

How this will all affect their lawsuit remains to be seen, but for now those in Japan can begin to collect their favourite Pals.
