Earlier today it was announced that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will have 2 guest characters, Ken Masters and Chun Li from the street Fighter franchise. This announcement follows the inclusion of Terry Bogard, who released on September 24th and Mai Shiranui joining Street Fighter 6.

While the announcement itself is great, it has many fans speculating that Capcom vs SNK 3 seems almost like an inevitability at this point. Capcom vs SNK 2 is a celebrated classic among fighting game die-hards and was a staple for competitive fighting game play for many years along with games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter III : 3rd strike.
While SNK games have featured cross overs from other games before, Street Fighter 6 marks the first time any guest characters appeared in a Street Fighter game. A couple years back it was reported that Capcom and SNK were both interested in doing a CvS 3. If the characters inclusions for both games are testing the waters to see how a potential Capcom vs SNK 3 could work, then we could be in for a surprise. Street Fighter 6 is an excellent game and Fatal Fury: COTW looks very promising to the point where I may make it my primary fighter when it drops. So if Capcom and SNK team up with how well they’re doing in their respective fighters now, we could be in for something special.
Street Fighter 6 is available now and Fatal Fury : City of the Wolves is set to launch on April 24th 2025 on PS4, PS5 windows and Xbox Series X/S.
