Xbox Design Labs Goes Transparent

Xbox is hitting us with a big dose of nostalgia by introducing The Cipher Series for the Xbox wireless elite controller. This collection brings back the classic transparent design by letting you see the inner workings and tech in your controller. With an amazing top case and metallic designs, the Cipher Series brings back that iconic transparent tech from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Along with the Cipher Series, they also introduce two new D-pad and paddle designs, Sunset Chroma and Energy Chroma.

The vibrant colored top cases show off the advanced tech in the Xbox Elite Wireless controller series 2. The Cipher Series features 6 eye-catching colors, Ghost, Velocity, Astral, Surf, Candy and Pulse Cipher. Each of these colors are meant to tell a unique story. The chromatic d-pad and paddle designs bring a dynamic spectrum of color. The Energy Chroma has the signature Xbox green that fades to blue, yellow and magenta. The Sunset Chroma is gives more a summer time feel, with yellow and pink.

“Each color tells a unique story: Ghost Cipher strips away all color to reveal a fully transparent top case, offering a clear view of the controller's inner workings; Velocity Cipher pays homage to the iconic Xbox green, made transparent to expose the energized world inside; Astral Cipher captures the mysteries of deep space with a rich, regal shade of purple; Surf Cipher channels the energy of ocean waves with its transparent blue; Candy Cipher offers a dreamy, sweet vision with a playful pink top case; and Pulse Cipher embodies passion and power with a striking transparent red.” – Mekias Bekalu

In addition to the all the stunning Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers, we will see a special edition Ghost Cipher Xbox Wireless Controller. The Ghost Cipher features grey and bronze accents with a beautiful clear top case, that shows off the silver interior parts. It also features a rubberized back grips with bronze triggers and d-pad. The Ghost Cipher drops 10/08/2024 and is available for preorder now for 69.99 plus tax.

The Cipher series Xbox Elite wireless controllers are available on Xbox Design labs right now. They start at 149.99 plus the 9.99 to add the transparent look to your controller. These controllers are really hitting me in my pockets, will you be picking up one of these amazing designs?
