Ubisoft Pulls Assassin’s Creed Shadows From Tokyo Game Show

In a somewhat shocking turn of events, it would appear that Ubisoft has pulled out of the highly anticipated Toyko Game Show. The original post can be found below

Translated the message reads as follows

“We regret to inform you that due to various circumstances, we have decided to cancel our online participation in Tokyo Game Show 2024 which was scheduled to start at 3:00 PM on September 26th,” Ubisoft Japan continues “We apologize for the short notice. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the broadcast.”

What could be the reason for pulling Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Ubisoft doesn’t detail exactly what “various circumstances” means, but their games as of late have faced a lot of criticism online and appear to be underperforming by the company’s own expectations. There is also quite a lot of controversy surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows itself in Japan. The game is set in Japan however the main character not being Japanese has sparked some outrage.

As of now, their next release is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is scheduled to be released on November 12th. It’s unclear if this withdrawal has anything to do with the game or its release date, but we will keep you informed as we find out more.
