This is some very unfortunate news. If you’re a Concord fan you may want to get as much time as you can in by Friday. In a statement which you can hear Playstation has announced in a pretty unprecedented situation that Concords Servers will be shut down on September 6th, 2024 mere weeks after if launched on August 23rd.
They say in their statement “while many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn't land the way we'd intended.” They continue “Therefore, at this time, we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024, and explore options, including those that will better reach our players.”

While it’s hard to say if the rumored sales woes are 100% accurate clearly the game did not hit Sonys sales markers given their decision to shut the game down weeks away after launch, a decision only out done in recent memory by what happened with The Day Before. What is also unknown is what the future of Firewalk Studios, the studio behind Concord, will be. I am curious to see what Sony may mean by “Exploring other options ” for the game.
If you bought the game on any digital store, be it PlayStation, Steam, or Epic, your purchase will be refunded on whatever way you bought the game originally. In their statement, PlayStation also tells its players if you bought the game physically to see the retailers’ refund policy.
