Good news for fighting game fans as Capcom has announced that both the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade classics and the Capcom fighting collection 2 will both launch on Xbox at a later date after previously being skipped.
The announcement of both collections was met with praise yet it was bittersweet for some as the Xbox version was omitted. Marvel vs Capcom in particular has a strong history with Xbox due to MvC2 getting multiple releases across Xbox as well as being the 360 being the main platform for competitive play for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for many years.

Fighting games are in a very strong spot right now, perhaps as strong as they’ve been since the 90s when Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat flipped the genre on its head as well as Tekken and Virtua Fighter introducing 3D fighting.
As a competitor myself, I owe Capcom fighting games a lot as Marvel superheroes, along with Super Street Fighter were among the games that really got me into fighters and UMvC3 was my introduction to the greater Fighting game community as a whole.
As fighting games continue to see a surge, it’s great that players newer to the genre get to experience some of the classics that paved the way. Now they can do that no matter what platform they play on.
