The layoff string continues unfortunately as it’s been reported that Rocksteady is the most recent studio to be hit. The layoffs are said to be directly related to the underperformance of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. It was reported last month that the game’s failure led to a 41% loss in revenue for Warner Bros. Gaming division.
The QA department has been affected the most as it was cut by more than half. Other departments have been affected as well according to ranging from junior staff members as well as members that have been with Rocksteady for 5 years according to Eurogamer. One staff member even stated they were made redundant during paternity leave.

Senior management has stated that product quality will suffer as a result of the layoffs. Work on Suicide Squad will continue but the remaining staff will have a larger workload as a result. Some team members with specialized knowledge were also let go.
This seems to be an unfortunate trend where a talented developer is put on a type of game they don’t have much experience with, then face layoffs or worse when the game doesn’t meet expectations. Hopefully this doesn’t mean the end for Rocksteady and they can come back with something as excellent as the Arkham trilogy they became known for.
