The PlayStation Stars program has been in the news quite a bit of late, and it's latest round in the news cycle has many fans upset as the changes being made are not to the benefit of consumers.
Users have begun to receive emails from PlayStation highlighting changes to their rewards system which detail points expiring much quicker and not having as many opportunities to earn points.

Beginning on October 24th any new points earned will now expire after 12 months instead of the current time frame of 24 months. Many users would typically accumulate as many points as possible for a bigger reward, however that will now be much more difficult due to this change.
Additionally as of March 1st 2025 how you can earn points will be changing. Specifically you will no longer earn points on PS Plus subscription services and renewals. This was one of the most common and simplest ways for gamers to rack up points so understandably this particular decision has upset fans.
