Capcom has just launched a trailer showing off how Terry Bogard will play in Street Fighter 6 and, he looks fantastic. Capcom has continued to make every character look excellent from updating fan favorites, to completely changing people’s opinions on ones they weren’t too keen on such as Ed.
Terry Bogard’s play style from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games looks well represented as he appears to be a solid all round character and all his key moves are intact. Being a competitor myself, I already see a few buttons that don’t look like they’ll be fun to deal with.
Terry’s addition marks an important milestone for the Street Fighter series as he’s the first guest character to appear in a Street Fighter game ever. He’s set to be joined by Mai Shiranui, also coming from Fatal Fury in winter of 2025. Although not confirmed, this could be Capcom testing the waters for a potential Capcom vs SNK 3 as both parties have stated they’re interested in recent years. Although Street Fighter 6 is only in year 2 and SNK is at work on Fatal Fury: mark of the wolves. So that’d be a ways off most likely.
There’s still no set date for Terry but given Capcom’s release schedule so far, mid to late September seems like a safe bet as characters have usually launched a few weeks after their gameplay reveal.
