Mortal Kombat 1 Khaos Reigns Announced

Mortal Kombat 1, as expected, is getting another round of DLC. It’s been revealed at SDCC that a new story expansion titled Khaos Reigns will be coming. This sounds similar to what they did with Mortal Kombat 11 and their aftermath pack where the DLC was the name of the story expansion. Animalities also seem to be making a return. For those unaware they are a fatality where the character turns into some sort of beast.

6 DLC characters were also revealed. Returning characters are fan favorite Noob saibot, Cyrax and Sektor. Cyrax has been a kameo character in the game (a kameo is an assist character similar to Marvel vs Capcom for those unaware). Sektor has been largely absent from the series since the 2011 reboot, although elements of his character were used in triborg in Mortal Kombat X.

Three guest characters are also set to be coming to Khaos Reigns and as per usual, Mortal Kombat gets their hands on some sick guest characters. The first up is horror icon Ghostface from scream. He follows Freddy Krueger, Jason and Leatherface who made appearances in previous games. Also coming is Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 who follows T-101’s appearance in MK11.

Mortal Kombat has been known to handle it’s DLC very well over the years and their single player stories have always been a stand out among fighting games. Hopefully Khaos Reigns continues that tradition.
