Earlier today Circana released their May 2024 US video game sales and engagement data and one of the biggest releases was noticeably missing, Xbox's Hellblade 2 and we now have a bit more information on where it landed.
Circana's Mat Piscatella posted on X that Hellblade 2 was the 37th best selling game of the month and 21st best selling game on Xbox. Hellblade 2 of course launched on Xbox Game Pass which likely affected sales as well as the lack of a physical copy likely hurt a little as well.

While the sales figures may look grim, the engagement numbers tell a much brighter story. Piscatella followed up by saying Hellblade 2 fell just outside the top 10 of the US Xbox engagement chart landing in 12th place just behind the resurgent Fallout 76 and ahead of games such as Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Apex Legends and Forza Horizon 5.
While Xbox has yet to officially give any firm numbers on the success (or failure) of Hellblade 2 it seems like falling just short of the top 10 for a game like Hellblade would be seen as a win for Xbox.
