It's not everyday you see game top the sales charts 4 years after it's release but Ghost Of Tsushima has done just that in the US on the backs of its PC release.
As announced by Circana, Ghost Of Tsushima was the best selling game in the US for the month of May just beating out Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. It should be noted that Paper Mario likely outsold Ghost Of Tsushima as the numbers were quite close but Nintendo doesn't give digital sales this giving Ghost the nod. Ghosts was the 71st best selling game the month prior so it's safe to say the PC launch did the heavy lifting here.
Overall May was a fairly slow month with Paper Mario, Homeworld 3 (14th) and F1 24 (18th) being the only new entrants for the month. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Helldivers 2 and MLB The Show 24 round out the top 5. April's best seller slipped Stellar Blade slipped down to 10th.

On the year Helldivers 2 still leads the way followed by Modern Warfare 3, Dragons Dogma 2, MLB The Show 24 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth round out the top 5. It's also worth noting Xbox's experiment with shipping games on PlayStation appear to be going well as Sea Of Thieves moved up to the 13th best selling game of the year after maintaining its spot as 3rd best selling game on PlayStation.
Hardware Still Tumbling
Hardware has been trending down all year and May continued the trend with hardware sales down 40% on the month compared to 2023. Hardware overall on the year is down 30% with the Switch being down the biggest percentage.
PlayStation 5 once again was the best selling console in terms of units and money spent while Xbox was second for money spent and the Switch second in terms of units sold.
