So today EA Sports gave us a first look at game play for CFB 25. This game has so much hype around it and the developers have shown it’s not just a reskinned madden. Today’s gameplay first look we see YouTube content creator Bordeaux play against cover athlete, star running for the Michigan Wolverines, Donovan Edwards. The first look was hosted by Nick Mizesko, Scott O’Gallager, CFB 25 Design Director and Will Sykes, CFB 25 gameplay designer.

So we see Donovan and Bordeaux play two games. The first game Michigan vs. Texas, Donovan of course has Michigan. The first play we see is Donovan calls a pass and we get to see the new revamped passing as he completes a pass to the tight end. With passing you will see 3 colors, red, blue and yellow. Blue means it’s safer throw, yellow is more of cautious throw but the closer to red the more off target you are going to be. Red doesn’t mean uncatchable, just more difficult and higher chance of being dropped.

We see Donovan, utilize himself as he runs a touchdown, showing off the responsive ball carrier controls. As the game progresses, we get more information on the “wear and tear” system. We see how it affects the players as the game goes on, as attributes go down as certain body parts take damage.
We also get some notes on a feature core fans have always wanted and that’s having “shell coverage”. With this you can pick cover 3 but show your setup in a cover 0. This is going to help confuse the offense by essentially letting you disguise your coverage. For those more skilled defensive players, this will add another aspect in dominating the game.

The next game we also see Donovan Edwards play as Michigan and Bordeaux plays as Penn State. Donovan comments on how real and amazing the presentation is. We see Donovan jump out to a big lead and wins this game as well. He noted he saw play he saw Penn State use in their bowl, is used by Bordeaux in game.
Expect greatness
We saw a lot in this first gameplay look. The game looks good graphically, we knew if nothing else that was going to happen. What a lot of people wanted to be sure of was it was not college football slapped over Madden and it’s not that by any means. Just in the this gameplay we see all the goodness that the developers have added to this game. Revamped passing, smooth yet responsive running, “the wear and tear” system, home field advantage and more just in the gameplay and that’s just a small number of upgrades EA has made in CFB 25.
You can look at the full video below. This gameplay only adds to my excitement for CFB 25. I know it’s going to be the game I put the most hours in this year. EA Sports College football 25 drops July 19 and if you want to play 3 days early pick up the deluxe or MVP bundle.
