For the first time in 5 years PlayStation is making its return to the floor of the Tokyo Game Show while Xbox, who had been the last few years is seemingly skipping.
The TGS unveiled the list of developers and publishers who would be on the show floor for the 2024 conference and the list is long. The likes of Square Enix, Capcom, Sega and THQ will all be on the show floor, but the most newsworthy details is that PlayStation is listed and Xbox isn’t.
What is most interesting about this is currently Xbox has a very full second half lineup in 2024 which typically means you’d want to show up at these shows while PlayStation has a relatively small lineup (so far) in comparison. PlayStation recently announced it was skipping Gamescom while Xbox was going to have its biggest presence ever.

There has been a lot of speculation that PlayStation has a big showcase planned in September and TGS takes place from September 26th-29th so perhaps this adds a little credibility to that speculation or perhaps it’s a mere coincidence.
Either way it is exciting to see PlayStation get back to some of these shows and hopefully this is just the beginning of their return to them.
