EA Sports College Football 25 Dynasty Deep Dive

EA Sports hit us with another one yesterday, they dropped a deep dive on everyone’s favorite mode, Dynasty! I know for me this is my most played mode in NCAA football 2014 and I can not wait to start my journey in EA Sports College Football 25. So let’s talk about all the amazing new and returning features in dynasty mode.

That old ball Coach…

To turn your school into the next dynasty you first need the coach, yes building or creating a coach is where you start. You can make your coach the head coach, offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator. Start at your dream school or at a small school and work your way to the top. Be mindful of being a head coach, just like in real life your coordinators and how you build your staff matter. No coach is perfect, everyone needs the right team around them to win.

Coach progression has changed some in EA sports College Football 25. You earn XP to level up your coach through various things like play the games, the draft, recruiting and more. You will be able to monitor you progression to those coach’s goals under the coach tab in dynasty mode. Also if things are too easy or too hard, EA added the feature to allow you to change the modifier of how fast or slow you earn coaching XP.

Are you my type….

Along with a new xp systems, EA has added some RPG like elements to the game with Coaching Archetypes. All coaches will start with a base archetype in either recruiting, scheme or motivation. There are 11 total archetypes in all, each has their own perks and focuses. The developers have made it evident that ” No coach can be great at everything” which means choose what ability you pick wisely. Once you make that purchase it can not be changed.

You will use your “coach points” to upgrade and purchase new abilities. There will be 50 coach abilities, with each one having up to 4 tiers. Again the theme “No coach can be great at everything” rings here as well because coaches will have specialized positions. Meaning you won’t be great at recruiting all positions and will have to rely on your staff. Your coordinators will also have abilities and archetypes and you will not be able to control or pick what they choose.

On top of the world

You will have expectations to meet no matter if your choose to be a Head coach, Offensive coordinator or Defensive coordinator. Those expectations will be set by the school, and its determined by the schools prestige and program standing. Your job security will fluctuate during the season depending on how well the team is playing. To few wins and poor play could put you on the hot seat, and winning a championship or conference could result in you getting a contract extension.

If you do get fired you have to wait until the coaching carousel in order to find a job. The added real world chaos in game, where schools won’t just hire available coaches, they will go after coaches at other programs as well. No longer is the coach carousel is complete in a week, now it last up to 5 weeks. The schools will determine who they want to hire based on things like archetype, scheme, coach prestige and more.

Built from the ground up

You will need good roster management and talent acquisition to build your program. Recruiting is still the life blood to keeping your school at the top. Recruiting will have 3 different phases discovery, pitch and close. Discovery is where you find out what the players skills are and uncovering other information. During the “Pitch” phase you sell the recruit on your program and what you can offer. The “Close” is the final stage of recruitment, they have their official visit and you get a chance to make a final impression.

Each season will start with 3500 generated recruits. Each year the classes will be different. There are a total of 14 different motivations and a recruit will care about 3 of those motivations. The 3 motivations can form the “Ideal Pitch’ but be careful of the dealbreakers’ as well. Dealbreakers can cause you to lose a recruit

A lot was covered in this dynasty deep dive for EA Sports College Football 25, to view the full breakdown click here. They discussed signing day, the transfer portal, impact players, the wear and tear system and so much more. The new 12 team playoff will also be featured in the game. EA Sports College Football 25 releases July 19, 2024, you can play 3 days early by purchasing the deluxe or MVP bundle.
