Happy July 1st everyone. While those in Canada such as myself are celebrating Canada Day, it is also officially the halfway point in the year.
With that comes a new round of our community voting on their current game of the year contenders. You can see the results of our first quarter voting here to see the differences, but I’ll be doing my best to breaking it all down here.
As is the case here again we asked everyone to list their top 3 games. A first place vote got 5 points, 2nd 3 and 3rd 1. 21 games received at least one vote. Without further ado let’s jump into the list!
1. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 – 21 points
2. Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden – 16 points
3. Dragon’s Dogma 2 – 11 points
4. Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown – 10 points
5.Crow Country and Helldivers 2 – 9 points (tie)

Elden Ring:Shadow of the Erdtree, Paper Mario, Persona 3 Reloaded, Another Crab’s Treasure, Still Wakes The Deep, Stellar Blade, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Alone In The Dark, Destiny 2 The Final Shape, Tales Of Kenzera: Zau, Ultros, Nine Sols, Tin Hearts VR, Animal Well, Outcast 2: A New Beginning.
The first main takeaway here is that Hellblade 2 is the new clubhouse leader for our community for game of the year overtaking Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden which dropped down to second. The Xbox exclusive seems to be loved by the community more so than critics.
The biggest takeaway I personally have though is that Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth went from 3rd place at the quarter point to not receiving a single vote. I’m not sure if that’s because those who previously voted for it didn’t vote at all or if the game has just fallen off peoples top 3. For what it’s worth it would have made my personal list but I have yet to finish it and therefore cannot rank it.
Other games falling off the list after having previously received votes include: Unicorn Overlord, Suicide Squad,Last Epoch, Tekken 8, Princess Peach, War Hospital, Balatro, Pepper Grinder, Dice People.
Also one last thing. We left it to the community to decide if DLC should be included or not. Clearly a couple people believed it should as The Final Shape and Shadows Of The Erdtree received votes however others decided they shouldn’t be eligible and left them off.
